The student athletes, families, and coaches of the Mankato Interscholastic Cycling Team are excited to share the opportunity for you to join us for our current season of practices, team events, and mountain bike racing in the MN Interscholastic Cycling League!
Although our competitive events are mountain bike races, our team supports all disciplines of cycling as forms of recreation, transportation, and competition.
The Mankato Interscholastic Cycling Team also engages in a variety of community service projects and mountain bike trail stewardship events throughout the year. Our team is open to all boys and girls, 6-12th grade in the greater Mankato area.
Q: Do I need to have racing experience to join the team?
A: Racing experience is not required—we will find the right group
of teammates & coaches for you to learn, develop, and enjoy your
cycling team experience.
Q: Is practice & race attendance mandatory?
A: All team activities are optional—attend as much as you like!
Everyone “plays bike”, there are no try-outs or benchwarmers! We
typically practice on Monday & Thursday evenings.
Q: I’m already in a MN High School League Fall sport, am I
eligible to join the Mankato Interscholastic Cycling Team?
A: Yes, our team & state league are sanctioned by the National
Interscholastic Cycling Association—you can participate in your
school’s Fall sport & the Mankato Interscholastic Cycling Team.
Q: What are the fees and costs associated with the team?
A: There are League registration fees to ensure student athletes
are insured & practice ready, and race registration fees for those
wishing to compete. Both the MN League and the Mankato
team offer scholarships and bike loaner programs to help
qualifying families offset costs. There is no fee to join the Mankato
Interscholastic Cycling Team.
